Sometimes your biggest career wake-up call doesn’t come from your boss, it comes from your body.
It was a Monday morning like any other. I logged into a video meeting at work, my daughter was home sick, and I was already juggling a to-do list that felt endless. Then my chest tightened. Pain shot down my arm. My breath quickened. I thought I was having a heart attack.
After spending the day in the ER, and every test came back clear. It wasn’t my heart; it was my life trying to get my attention.
The Moment Everything Shifted
That day changed everything. I realized I’d been working through life instead of working for one that mattered. I loved my corporate career, the type-a people who were just like me, being on the forefront of technology innovation, but I was sacrificing the moments that truly counted: bedtime talks, spontaneous laughter, my own peace of mind.
That’s when I decided to make a change...not a small pivot, but a complete hard reboot!
